My name is Danielle Hren, and I am a second-generation refugee. I have been a passionate advocator, mentor, teacher and manager for the culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) community for over 15 years.

I hold a Bachelor of Social Science with majors in Sociology, Politics, and Asian Studies, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, and a Master of Education specialising in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Linguistics.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with various organisations in Mildura, interstate, and overseas, delivering cultural competency training and teaching Japanese and English as a second language. My experience spans higher education institutions including TAFE and La Trobe University.

Between 2018 and 2019, I served as an IELTS examiner and worked as an Adult Migrant Education Services (AMES) case manager supporting some of the most vulnerable refugees. In 2021 and 2022, I was honoured with state education awards recognising innovative program development and leadership.
